Early, Early Spring
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Lois just returned from Denver after attending a gift market for her store, the Made In Colorado Shoppe. Lisa has been filling in at the store while Lois and the employees are gone. On top of that, Lois is teaching a business plan course for the Archuleta Economic Development Association, and that is very time consuming. We here at home are very proud of Lois for all the time and effort that she is giving her students in this learning endeavor. I tell you all this so that you will know why the newsletter is late. I, Allan, have to do it. And when using simple cowboy computer skills ( hunt and peck ) it takes awhile.
The early spring weather has been GREAT. We have been getting into the 50's and except for a little early mud it has been wonderful. There is some worry that we might be really dry this summer but we are still getting a little rain and things look good. Bill Jackson, an old rancher, told me when I first moved here in 1976 that "No matter how much snow you get in the winter, if there are no spring and summer rains it will be too dry in the summer." I'm just trusting the Good Lord for all - spring and summer rains, and good times with Lois, the grandkids, colts and puppies.
Tell A Friend
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are doing a "Tell A Friend" special for the months of March and April. You beg or drag a friend to the phone or computer and tell them about GrassRoots Meats and get them to place an order. We, GrassRoots Meats, will give you a 10% credit to your account (meat only, not shipping and handling or taxes), usable anytime with your next order and based on the amount of the purchase your friend makes. I will need help to keep track of this - so old customers let me know of your friends who might be ordering. You can add up credits for as many friends as you want. Tell your friends to tell me your name when they are ordering to make sure that you get your credit.

Sedona, AZ - April 10th Albuquerque, NM - April 5th

Lois and Cheryl will be on the road again! They are on their way to Sedona, AZ, to work a craft show for Cheryl (she is a potter). They will be able to make meat deliveries along the way, and will be traveling on Friday, the 10th of April. The delivery charge will be 50 cents per pound, a good savings. Tell all your friends and lets us know what you need. Allan is headed to Albuquerque, NM on April 5th if anyone is interested in a delivery. The delivery charge is .50 cents per pound.
We will also be happy to ship whatever, whenever, and wherever you might need us to. Thanks.

Blog Page

GrassRoots is considering adding a Blog Page to it's web site. This seems to be a popular way of communicating right now. According to the dogs I communicate better hollering than blogging, so this might not work for me, but please let me know if you think you would like this. Can you holler a blog?

March and April Specials
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will run the lamb that we have available on special this month at 15% off. We have some really nice Racks of Lamb and some beautiful Whole Loin Roasts, bone in. We also have Loin Chops and Sirloin Chops. I will give you about 3# of Lamb Ribs free with your order - just let me know that you want them. Lamb ribs are a litle fatty but when marinated and grilled properly and served hot they are really good.
We will also run the Flat Iron and Chuck Eye Steaks on special at $6.99 for these two months. These are great small steaks to grill out as the weather starts to warm up (for some of us).
In watching the different news channels and listening to the different talk show hosts, conservative and liberal, the only thing clear is that our new President has sparked a lot of conversation (arguing) among both sides. These are confusing and stressful times but I am sure there will be some good opportunities if we are able to recognize them. One lady told me last week that she thought grass fed beef was expensive food, but cheap medicine. So I guess I would like to suggest that we as a nation lift our leaders up and hope and pray that they use wisdom in making the best decisions they can. I would also like to suggest that we invite our friends and families (liberal and conservative) to grill out some of our favorite cheap medicine, discuss politics and weather, and definitely enjoy our spouses and children as we watch the grand children run and play in the sun, enjoying the blessings we do have.
Allan, Lois, Lisa and Family.
