The news this morning is about the heat wave throughout the country. Especially at times like this we are reminded of why we chose to live in southern Colorado. Mornings are always cool, and even when it is hot, hot, hot here, it is never as hot as other places and relief can always be found just by sitting in the shade for awhile. We have actually been getting a good amount of rain this summer to supplement the irrigation water. Last night the thunder was loud, long, and awesome. The mixture of heat and cool makes for some incredible thunderstorms in the mountains. Summer is such a wonderful time in the Rockies. |

Lamb Sale ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We need to clear out some of our lamb inventory so
we are offering various cuts at 25% off the regular
retail price. The processor we used did not trim the
meat the way we normally do and there is a little
excess fat on the cuts. The taste is still delicious
but there is a little more waste than we like.
We are discounting the Rib Chops (Regular $12.99 - Sale $9.74), the Loin Chops (Regular $13.59 - Sale $10.19), Leg Steaks (Regular $9.99 - Sale $7.49), and Leg Shanks (Regular $4.99 - Sale $3.74) Of course this offer is good only as long as supplies last.

New Processor ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are really happy to tell you that we have found a
new processor practically at our back door. They
are doing a great job for us and because they are so
close we are cutting down our travel greatly. We
are so very happy and feel greatly blessed. We think
you will be very happy with the job they are doing.
We now have ground beef patties again. We are offering 1/4 pounders and 1/3 pounders. At present they are packed 5 burgers to a package, but in the future we hope to have them packed in small boxes with more per box. We have a few large boxes of patties, about 26 pounds per box, if you are planning a large get together. The price on the patties is $4.99 per pound.

Fall Delivery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are hoping to schedule some delivery routes for
mid to late October. If all goes well we would like to
make one swing through Colorado - Pagosa Springs
to Walsenburg, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver,
Salida and back. Then another trip down through
Santa Fe and Albuquerque. And perhaps another trip
through Utah and Arizona. We will add additional
towns along the way as needed.
If you are anywhere along these routes and would like to get meat, please, please place your order by the first week of September. There is a 4 to 6 week turn around time for processing and delivering the meat so we need enough lead time to be ready mid October. The delivery charge per quarter is $60.00 If you are ordering custom packages, or lamb, we will adjust accordingly.

Great Meat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allan is very excited about the animals this year.
They are on lush grass and are finishing out nicely.
This looks like our best set of cattle so far, and the
sheep are doing great as well. Our afternoon rains
have caused the grass to grow abundantly, and the
irrigation project Allan completed in the spring is
paying nice dividends with the grass now. The
animals are really on the gain!
